Messy Mud Football

Saturday we went to the stake mud football game and BBQ. I tried to get a couple of pictures and I got one video but within the first five minutes my camera was clobbered with goopy mud. I was on baby patrol so I didn't get in on any of the football action but Tim had a great time getting smeared
.
I had such a great time and it brought back so many great memories of growing up in Pima, playing in the ditches and mud, and having our family football games. My cousin Tim hasn't forgotten and it's so adorable how when he introduces me to anyone he has says "this is my cousin Sharla", and then immediately has to let everyone know that I'm this huge Tom boy ... and then he retells of my glory days of making these amazing touch downs and still in shock he always says "she caught the ball and she knew which way to run with it....it was so amazing". It's so funny. Just cause I'm a girl doesn't mean I don't know how to play football. I guess I have my five brothers to thank for making me such a brute. It's a little embarrassing and I hate when he has to tell ever that I'm basically not a woman, but I guess I'm used to being known as one of the guys. Someday I'll grow my woman wings hopefully. The girls had so much fun in the mud and didn't want to leave,
well actually poor Kylee was stuck and couldn't leave if she wanted to.
We hosed them down and ate some delicious food. Thanks Aaron for tackling Kiora into the mud, I'm sad I didn't get that on camera but if you listen closely you can hear the take down in the back ground--Hilarious Nothing says I'm a big tough man like tackling a little girl in the mud. LOL Aaron you're my hero, and I'm sure Kiora will always remember the day she took on the big tough cop in a ring of mud grrr. I'm going to be so sad when we move--I love all you amazing Maricopa people and we had so much fun here.

First Day of School

“Back to School, Back to school to prove to daddy I’m not a Fool”—Adam Sandler

So today was the first day of school for Kiora and Kylee and I’m please to announce there were no water works, from me anyways, Tim that’s another story, only teasing. Tim had the whole day off so he made us all breakfast and walked the girls to their classes, and then because it was half day we picked the girls up around lunch time and took them to McDonald to celebrate with food, fun and of course ice cream. I love love love the girls teachers especially Kiora’s. When I met her the other day she had her shoes off and gave us a tour of her room and she just cracks me up. I went to work and then we took the girls school shopping for socks and undies, back to school necessities oh and we bought Kylee these adorable bright yellow shoes, that girls got style. It’s so weird having my babies gone all day, but I’m sure it won’t be long before I get used to the solitude. I might even become a morning person just to get the girls out the door, so I can enjoy my morning to myself, Na me a morning person, never going to happen. Girls I love you, and I hope you have an amazing school year.

Camping Trip

We loaded up the car and took Kylee and Kamryn on their first camping trip. We found out that Kamryn can last about 5 hours in the car without getting carsick and unfortunately the trip was 6 hours so we were off to a little messy start, and we were way behind schedule because Tim had to replace a part on our car and we had to stop and buy a tent on the way, so everyone was worried and started driving around looking for us because it was after dark, but we finally made it to camp about 10:30 pm, only 6 hours late, and ate dinner, put up our tent and went to bed--well almost. I woke up in the middle of the night unable to breath, with uncontrollable shakes, my heart was racing and very nauseous and sick. I don't remember ever being that sick in my entire life and had no clue what was wrong and of course I thought I was going to die, but I'm here writing this blog so I'm pleased to say I survived. The next morning we told everyone that I was sick and we were going home, and when we described what was going on we found out it was altitude sickness and my father-n-law gets sick as well for the first night, and it's common with people with heart problems. The girls were having so much fun and I was told it would only be for the first day, so we decided to stay, and I'm so glad we did. I've never seen three little girls have so much fun and get so dirty. We played horse shoes, ladder golf, had a pick nick in a field of flowers, hiked, roasted smores, they played in a stream, chased butterflies, pick flowers, roasted hot dogs, and had just an amazing time. Sadly I got sick again the second night so we cut our trip a day short, but we will definitely be camping again real soon, but try to camp at elevations lower than 9,000 feet and hopefully that will prevent me from getting so sick. What a wonderful weekend.

24th of July Celebration.

We went to Pima for the 24th of July Celebration and had just an amazing time. Friday night we went to the rodeo, my first time, and it was hilarious they had teams tackling cows to put on these sexy granny panties, a skill just about everyone needs, and then they had tiny little kids trying to attack a greased pig, and several other games. I've never seen so many people in Pima in my entire life. It's been years since I've seen everyone, so if you were there and I walked right past you without saying hi, sorry I wasn't being stuck up, I just probably didn't recognize you. Michele did flag me down and I got to see her and Tiffany and their little babies--Two of the most gorgeous girls I know--oh and congratulations Tiffany your baby is so adorable. Kamryn could care less about the things going on around her she found dirt, and it was her new best friend the entire weekend. After the rodeo we spent time with family and friends playing games until 2 A.M. Saturday we went to lunch with my dad at La Casitas and then he took us shopping. All his children moved away so he pays us to come visit him once in a while soon he's going to be paying us to leave when we are going there every weekend so Tim can help his dad with his business--DAD YOUR THE BEST
We went to the parade, the kids played games, and then we watched the fireworks. Tim watched the kids so I could spend time with my cousins who came down for the celebration and I got in about 3 A.M. Not sleeping for more than 4 hours a night brings back memories of working in the Hospitals, but three kids later I wouldn't recommend it.
AWE What a Blast.

We Love Ya Big Papa(s)

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Being a total daddy’s girl this is one of my favorite holidays. We decided to
drive to Pima and surprise our dads for father’s day—it’s so nice and convenient to have them both in one place, which just happens to be one of my favorite places in the whole world.

I also packed up all my baby clothes : (—bags and bags of them to take to my friend who’s having a baby girl, so the drive down there was a bit tight. I only got baby fever for about three months but I think I’m ok now. I like the size of our family right now, and we are almost finished with diapers and I only have to wake up at midnight and 4am so I’m looking forward to sleep real soon, and my skinny pants—well that’s another story.

Sadly my dad had to work the whole weekend but we were able to see him for a little bit to give him his present. We wrapped up a green chili burrito from la casita—kind of an inside joke, and we got Tim’s dad a card and some other things and I got Tim a few things prior, but on fathers day he said he wanted a tie—seriously, so we went out and bought him a tie.

We all had so much fun. My favorite part of course was the Harley ride under the stars up the mountains. Honestly, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen the stars at night away from the city one thing I miss more than anything. It makes it so easy to forget about all the drudgery of the day to day and just get lost in the moment and to see the beauty in every breath. We weren’t the only ones out late and when we got back about 1A.M we startled Tim’s little brother and girlfriend who were ummmm admiring the stars as well.

Here’s a shout out to all you dads out there.

Awesome Week long Vaction--For me anyways

For months I have been planning this amazing week long vacation, I scheduled off work three months in advanced, bought a few new outfits for everyone, cleaned my car--wow you know I’m serious if I'm cleaning my car. I didn't really know where we were going I just picked a week in the month to go on vacation, something we are trying to do every month, I’ll let you know how that goes.

It just so happened to be the exact same week my little brothers were graduating High School so our vacation spot--PIMA.

Now I haven't been to Hawaii yet, so I doubt this is saying much, but Pima is my favorite place to visit. I know it's silly because I grew up there, but honestly I love being there. It still feels like home to me.

We left Wednesday and when we arrived we went to Chris and Jordan's Graduation at 8 pm.

The next morning everyone was sick except for me. Sadly every time we go to Pima everyone gets sick and we don't know if it's allergies or what, so we used to go visit at least once a month now we rarely go because everyone is miserable there except for me of course.

Regardless of the sickness we still managed to have a little fun. We went out to eat, to the mountains, played in the rain, spent time with family, and my personal favorite a Harley ride up the mountains under the stars. Tim really needs his own Harley. His dad always teases him that the Harley is all his all he has to do is give him a grandson before his little brother. We tried, tried and tried again no luck. I think we will have a better chance saving our money and buying his own before we have a boy.

So it wasn’t exactly how I imagined my wonderful vacation, but we still had a great time.

Kams Not So Successful Flight Lesson

Today I let Kiora ditch school, so I could take the girls swimming. I know I'm so bad, but we had a blast and the most important things in life can not be found in books or behind a desk--sorry.

Of course I'm probably the only person who almost didn't graduate high school with a 4.0 because I ditched so much, and of course my perfect husband had perfect attendance so shh it's our little secret.

Kamryn loves loves loves the water and most of all jumping into the pool. I regret now that I didn't let Kylee catch her in the pool, because a soft water landing would have been a lot less detrimental.

So after hours of fun we sadly had to leave so I could go to work, but I still had about half an hour so I started a craft for the girls while I was in the office cutting out the crafts I hear the most horrific cry and I run into the kitchen to find Kams on the floor.

I quickly scooped her up and started to examine her--see all those years working in hospitals and hours and hours of pre-med paid off even though I know I don't want to be a doctor anymore.

I tried to get the story from Kylee and the poor thing is just blubbering away "she fell, she fell. she hit her head"

It's so funny how things never go wrong when you are prepare and ready for them they always like to sneak up on you, and that this happened while I was with her because I'm am so over protective and Tim is constantly having to remind me to relax and let them be kids. I'm just glad they aren't little dare devils like I was although it looks like Kamryn is headed that way.

I call Tim and tell him I need him to rush home so I can take the baby to the hospital. He's always there to do the rescuing, don't let the glasses fool you he's a genuine hero. To bad he doesn't have his flying down yet because he's still an hour drive away--everyday I find more and more reasons to regret moving to Maricopa.

I call into work and when Tim gets home we rush her to the er in Chandler and she is seen within 20 minutes--um that a lot better than the five hours we spent in Saffords ER when Tim's appendix burst and he had to be flown to Tucson--we could have saved the $13,000 air vac and driven to Tucson three times.

Here is my adorable baby just sitting quietly on my lap smiling, and the doctors thought I was being a paranoid freak. As a health care professional she really wasn't portraying any signs of concern, no bumps or bruises, no vomit, no rapid heart rate, or elevated respiration, no concussion nothing but as a mother I knew something was terribly wrong and because I didn't actually see what happened I had to be certain she was ok. I insisted on an x-ray and poor little Kams has a broken collarbone.

The doctor was in shock to see the x-rays and although it was terrible news I was relieved to know it wasn't more serious.

Later Kylee confessed to putting her on the counter and trying to get her to jump to her--I'm guessing because I wouldn't let her catch her in the pool.

Kam's first attempt to fly was a definite crash and burn.

Huntington Beach/dinner on the pier

We love the beach! Surfing, sun, squishy sand=fabulous fun. We spent the morning at Huntington Beach, then we went to Newport beach to eat dinner on the pier. I always wanted to get a ride from those guys pulling a cart on a bike, so we all piled into our little Chariot, and I got to say staring at some strange guys sweaty butt while he struggles to peddle his bike with a cart full of fatties, not that amazing, although I do have to admit he did have some impressive calves, as a personal trainers opinion honey--ok I got his number--what it's was on the back of his umm... bike. I want to move to California. After moving 13 times what's one more.

Arizona Renaissance Fair

Hazzah! We took the girls to the renaissance fair this last Saturday—if you have never been I would highly recommend it, it’s so fun even for the kids. We try to make it a yearly family tradition, and I have been going to the fair since I was 16 and was a dancer there, and I still have yet to see everything there and they keep adding more and more attractions, shows, and buildings.

I couldn't believe how involved the girls got into the shows--They loved the Sword Swallower, and getting muddy from sitting front row on one of the shows and throwing water balloons on stage at a guy who was trying to catch himself on fire with fireworks duct taped to his scrawney little body --yeah you kinda had to be there.

Good Times
